Orthotics are inserts that comfortably fit into shoes to support and improve foot function. If your foot functions improperly it will affect joints higher up in the body such as your ankle, knee, hip, sacroiliac joint and spine and may result in a sporting injury or painful condition in your foot or elsewhere.

HPSM offers custom foot orthotics and footwear as well as a variety of off-the-shelf orthotics to help maximize your performance during sport or your comfort during work and leisure activities. We provide orthotics that fit a variety of shoes, ski boots, ice skates and work safety boots. Will my insurance provider reimburse me for my orthotics?

Custom orthotics and footwear are covered by most health insurance providers, however some policies require a referral from a doctor as well as other documentation prior to claiming reimbursement for these services. Dr. Edelist can provide you with this referral. Off-the-shelf orthotics are generally not covered. To facilitate a timely reimbursement with your insurance provider you may want to review your policy prior to your appointment.

Dr. Darren Edelist has undergone training in custom orthotics and gait analysis and will provide you with a biomechanical assessment of your foot function as well as a prescription of specifications for construction of a custom orthotic that will be tailored to meet your biomechanical and lifestyle needs. Dr. Edelist will also advise you regarding the most suitable brand and model of shoe for your particular foot.
